Questions
- Are the generated IPs real, in-use addresses?
- They are random and valid in format, but not checked against anything. A public-range address may belong to a real host, so use them as sample data and never for scanning or testing systems you don't own.
- Which ranges count as private?
- For IPv4: 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, and 192.168.0.0/16. For IPv6, unique local addresses in fd00::/8. Public IPv4 excludes private, loopback, link-local, multicast, and documentation ranges.
- Are the addresses cryptographically random?
- They are drawn from the browser's crypto.getRandomValues, so they are unbiased, but they are meant for test data, not secrets.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. Generation happens entirely in your browser.
