Questions
- What's the difference between case-sensitive and case-insensitive sorting?
- Case-insensitive (the default) sorts "Apple" and "apple" as equivalent, alongside the rest of the alphabet normally. Case-sensitive sorting follows strict character codes, which puts all uppercase letters before all lowercase letters — so "Zebra" would sort before "apple".
- How does duplicate removal decide what counts as a duplicate?
- It compares items using the same case sensitivity setting you've chosen — with case-sensitive off, "Apple" and "apple" are treated as the same item and only the first occurrence is kept.
- Can I alphabetize words within a sentence instead of whole lines?
- Yes — switch to word mode and it splits on whitespace instead of line breaks, sorting individual words and joining them back with spaces instead of newlines.
- Is my list sent anywhere?
- No. Sorting runs locally in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is transmitted or stored.
