Questions

What is BMR?
Basal Metabolic Rate is the number of calories your body burns at complete rest just to keep basic functions running — breathing, circulation, cell production — with no activity factored in.
How is BMR calculated here?
This tool uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, widely considered one of the more accurate formulas for most people: for men, BMR = 10×weight(kg) + 6.25×height(cm) − 5×age + 5; for women, BMR = 10×weight(kg) + 6.25×height(cm) − 5×age − 161.
What's the difference between BMR and TDEE?
TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is your BMR multiplied by an activity factor that accounts for exercise and daily movement — it estimates how many calories you actually burn in a day, which is the more useful number for setting a calorie target.
