Questions
- What grade point scale does this use?
- The standard US 4.0 scale, where A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, down to F = 0.0 — the same plus/minus scale used by most US colleges and universities.
- How is GPA calculated with different credit hours?
- It's a credit-weighted average: each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, those are summed, and the total is divided by the sum of all credit hours — so a 4-credit course counts more than a 1-credit course.
- My school uses a different scale — can I still use this?
- This tool assumes the standard 4.0 plus/minus scale. If your school uses a different point mapping (e.g. no plus/minus, or a 5.0 weighted scale), the grade points won't match exactly — check your registrar's scale for precise results.
- Is my grade data sent anywhere?
- No. All math runs locally in your browser — nothing is transmitted or stored.
