Questions
- What happens with multiple sheets?
- If your workbook has more than one sheet, a dropdown appears so you can pick which one to export. Only one sheet is converted at a time, matching how CSV itself works — it has no concept of multiple sheets in a single file.
- Will formulas and formatting be preserved?
- No. CSV is a plain-text, values-only format, so formulas are converted to their last calculated value, and all formatting (colors, bold, column widths, merged cells) is dropped. This is a limitation of the CSV format itself, not something any converter can work around.
- Does this support the older .xls format too?
- Yes. The underlying library (SheetJS) reads both the modern .xlsx format and the legacy binary .xls format used by older versions of Excel.
- Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is parsed and converted entirely in your browser using the SheetJS library — it never leaves your device.
