Questions

What data formats can I paste in?
Comma-separated (CSV) or tab-separated (TSV) text — the kind you'd get copying a range out of Excel, Google Sheets, or a CSV file. The first row is treated as the table header.
How does column alignment work in Markdown tables?
Markdown tables control alignment through the separator row under the header: :--- for left, :---: for center, ---: for right, and plain --- for the default. This tool builds that separator row automatically based on what you pick per column.
Why are the columns padded with extra spaces?
Padding every cell to the same width makes the raw Markdown source readable in a plain text editor, not just when rendered — GitHub, GitLab, and most Markdown renderers ignore the extra spaces and render the table identically either way.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The table is generated locally in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is transmitted or stored.
