How to convert SVG to PNG
- 1
Upload an .svg file, or paste raw SVG markup into the text box.
- 2
The output width and height are set automatically from the SVG's viewBox or width/height — adjust either one, or lock the aspect ratio so they scale together.
- 3
Choose a transparent or white background for the PNG.
- 4
Check the live preview, then click Download PNG to save the result.
Questions
- Is my SVG uploaded anywhere?
- No. The SVG is loaded as an in-memory image and drawn onto an HTML canvas directly in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, whether you upload a file or paste raw markup.
- How is the output size decided?
- When you load an SVG, this tool reads its viewBox or width/height attributes to set a sensible default output size. If neither is present, it falls back to 512×512. You can override the width and height at any time, and optionally lock the aspect ratio so changing one scales the other.
- What's the difference between a transparent and white background?
- Most SVGs have no background, so by default the PNG is exported with a transparent background (useful for logos and icons that sit on top of other content). Switch to white if you need a flat background — for example, when pasting the PNG somewhere that doesn't support transparency.
- Can I upscale a small SVG to a large PNG without losing quality?
- Yes — that's one of the advantages of starting from SVG. Since it's vector markup, increasing the output width and height renders the PNG freshly at that resolution instead of stretching existing pixels, so edges stay crisp at larger sizes.
